Description

You’re sitting at home with nothing to do. It’s boring and the storm clouds are slowly moving across the evening sky. You lie down, take a deep breath and put on the new Burning Fuses record. The hypnosis in which you are now floating lasts 25 minutes.
BuFu have remained true to their dirty grunge and punk on their third album. However, the songs on “Breathe” have clearer structures than before. You can clearly hear that the band has been working together for years now. The record is exciting and varied. The album was produced at SOS Basement Studio.
The new album by Burning Fuses starts with a catchy drum part. In “57 Seconds”, the album’s power is immediately expressed. Fortunately, this song doesn’t only last 57 seconds. This song is about being alone. How beautiful, but also terrible, this can be.
It’s time to take another deep breath, because with “So Deep” and especially the song “Open Church”, things get wild and brutal. You’re sweating just listening to it. Before it gets a bit more melodic again, you have to get up briefly to turn the LP.
In the song “Losing why”, the distortion is omitted for once, at least at the beginning. It’s about the decisions we have to make every day. At the end, for the first time in the band’s history, a Bernese-German part is hidden. Listen carefully!
The drums throw you into the next song with force. “Destroy” is about self-destruction. “The only one allowed to destroy my life is me!” is sung in the chorus.
The last song on the record, “Rokk óg Rol”, is anything but the beauty of Icelandic fjords or geysers. The typical BuFu riff is sure to stick in people’s heads until the next day. It’s a song against certain groups and people. It’s better to see with one eye than to look away with both. The dirty laughter at the end of the song is dripping with irony, because there’s actually not much to laugh about.
After eight songs, you can slowly think clearly again. The hypnosis seems to be over and your neck hurts from constant headbanging. Never forget to breathe, that would be negligent.
