Description
100 Kilo Herz – 3.5 punkers, 1.5 jazzers and 1.5 and a half indie kids have been on the road together since 2014. After the (initially) often-heard dialog “We make punk with horns” – “So ska?” – “No, punk rock, but with horns”, word got around that something special had been created in Leipzig. In 2018, there were concerts with Dritte Wahl, Fahnenflucht, The Offenders, Rantanplan and a few other bands, and it’s now clear that 100 kilos of heart can’t quite be contained. Too hard with the ska bands and too soft with the punk bands, they landed somewhere between the two and realized that it’s also quite bearable there. So after releasing an EP in 2016, they used every spare minute in the most concert-rich year in the band’s history to finally get their debut album out. And thus consistently continues the proven mix. An offbeat here, a bit of bludgeoning there, vocals, screams and beautiful brass melodies. Plus stories of small-town and big-city experiences, differentiated observations of small and big problems, a bit of dancing and a whole lot of feeling. 100 kilos of heart.
